The Good Samaritan
Luke 10:30-34 (paraphrased)
“There was a man attacked on the road by robbers and was left for dead. A priest came upon him and passed him by on the other side of the road. Then a Levite came upon him too and passed by him. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him.”
GROW
One morning in February, Faa took a call from the government. She was told about three little girls who needed a place to go. Their father had just killed his father-in-law with a hoe. Their mother was so distraught that she couldn’t function or take care of her girls. The grandmother whose husband was killed, took the girls and not knowing what to do, she prepared to feed them poison along with herself because she had no income and nothing on the horizon as a way to support the children. With a very heavy heart, Faa had to say, “No, because we don’t have room for more girls yet. We are full.”
Faa was able to offer suggestions that could help the family, and the girls were placed in a home near where they are from.
Last month we completed the construction of and dedicated our third girls’ home. Current GROW girls will begin moving in in a couple of months. New girls will join them next spring when we can bring more children to our campus.
PRAYER: Oh Father, the need is so great. You have called GROW to be a good Samaritan. You have placed in our path so many hurting children here in Thailand. Our hearts are pure, and we do not want to pass them by. We want to minister to their physical, mental, and spiritual needs. Yet our supplies and resources are limited. So, we call upon you, Lord, whose storehouses are infainate to stir in the hearts of your people that they, too, can see the great need and respond accordingly. May you use GROW to pour out Your grace on a needy world. For we know what Your word says, “My God shall supply all your need, according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4″19
