“Put on the armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. Therefore, put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything to stand.
Ephesians 6:11-13
Each society has a plan to pass on to the next generation, what they believe will bring both longevity and prosperity of life. Thailand is no different. Thailand’s academic year begins in mid-May at the onset of the rainy season. It ends in early March as the hot season begins.
A typical school day in Thailand starts at 8AM where you will find the students entering the building in uniform, a requirement that extends to university students. The younger students are held to strict haircuts for both girls and boys. Some schools start the day with a flag raising ceremony followed by a lecture given through a bullhorn by the principal. After a day of a rigorous study in academics and arts, the students are released around 3:30. Having a good education in Thailand can be used as a means to forge a better future. It is seen as a step to financial independence and that to becoming a productive and valued citizen.

There is an enemy who is prowling around like a roaring lion looking for anyone he can devour. The enemy has a name, his name is Satan (I Peter 5:8) And unfortunately, Satan has filtered into schools where children are worldwide. Satan’s plan is to distort the truth and devour generations. Thailand is no exception. Satan is there too. For example, the public schools in Thailand include Buddhist worship. Even though GROW is a Christian establishment, which excludes the children at GROW from Buddhist worship, that doesn’t mean they don’t face repercussions. On occasion the children at GROW have been reprimanded and ostracized for holding to their belief in the gospel of Jesus Christ.
II Samuel 22:4 “ I called to the Lord, Who is worthy of praise, and He saved me from my enemies.”
Prayer:
1. Thank God for His ever presence.
2. Thank God for Faa’s boldness to defend the GROW children when they face opposition.
3. Pray that each morning the GROW children put on the armor of Christ (belt of truth, breastplate of righteousness, feet fitted with the gospel of peace) and that they take up the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation and the sward of the spirit which is the word of God and STAND.
4. Pray for the children to study diligently and for their comprehension.
