12 Months of Prayer – Seeds that GROW Hope
Each month, join us in prayer for the children, staff, and supporters of Grace Refuge Outreach Worldwide (GROW). Together, we plant seeds of hope that God grows into healing, joy, and new beginnings.
May – Donors and Sponsors
Through prayer and giving, donors make rescue and restoration possible. They are partners in God’s redemptive work.
Lord, bless every donor and prayer partner. May they feel the joy of transforming lives through their generosity.
“You will be enriched in every way so that you can be generous.” – 2 Corinthians 9:11
Sophany’s Story of Rescue
Sophany’s mother sold her for $75 when she was three months old. The couple that bought her had 10 other children in the home. They were not able to provide enough food for her, and it became evident that they had no intention of providing love either. At age five, they began using her as a work slave. She spent her days working—tending gardens, feeding chickens, and caring for cows and pigs—just to receive a small portion of rice, and occasionally vegetables.
One day her “parents” were very angry at her so they chained her to a tree for four days only giving her rice and a little water.
After enduring more than any child should, Sophany made a brave decision—she ran away.
Alone and in desperate condition, she began begging to survive. Villagers noticed her frail body and the severity of her situation. Authorities were contacted, and eventually, we were called.
That is when Sophany came into our care.
Today, her story is no longer defined by what was done to her—but by the hope, healing, and future now before her.
What Our Donors Are Saying About GROW
“We support GROW prayerfully and financially because learning to know Jesus is at the heart of all they do! The newsletter is beautifully put together with pictures of the precious children being served and heart wrenching stories of how these dear ones came to the GROW home. What a joy to know that these helpless children are safe, loved, have needs met and are taught the Truth of the Bible! Also, the financial and prayer needs are clearly outlined and explained in the newsletter. We love helping this wonderful organization give children, who have no hope, grow with the opportunity to live fruit filled lives with Hope in Christ!”

I first heard about GROW from a brother in Christ whom I had not communicated with for many years. He gave me a brochure and I looked the ministry up; when I saw Jeana as the lead worker in the United States, I instantly felt I could trust this ministry. I remembered her as a teen at church with her parents, and I was so excited to see her
faithfulness to the Lord all these years later!
Since that beginning I’ve remained a supporter of GROW as I see this ministry is not just another social gospel endeavor. The children are being discipled and GROWing to know the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord through both teaching and the love and care poured into them by Faa and the other servants at GROW.
Language is a bit of a barrier, but the Spirit speaks through the faithful labors of the staff and Faa. I see that God prepared Faa for this ministry through her past history, and the Spirit is at work for the glory of God in the lives of the children, their families, their communities, as well as everyone who is a supporter. I feel privileged to make this wise investment, and so very thankful for those who are doing what I cannot do!

Children are vulnerable and often overlooked, and Jesus never turned them away. He welcomed them with open arms and blessed them. GROW welcomes these little ones and takes them under their wings. They provide hope and the tools necessary for them to succeed in their world; but more importantly they provide them the opportunity to encounter the one true God who loves them and wants them to be part of His eternal family.

Why does this mission matter to you personally?
One of us had the opportunity to go on a mission trip and visit the children’s home in person. Seeing the children, the care they receive, and the impact firsthand gave this ministry a very real and personal place in our heart. It transformed this from something we supported from a distance into something we felt personally connected to. The idea
that children can be rescued from harmful situations and raised in an environment filled with hope of the gospel, safety, and stability is incredibly meaningful to us.
What would you say to someone who is considering supporting GROW?
We would say that your support truly matters and can be trusted behind this leadership. You’re not just donating; you’re helping rescue, restore, and give everlasting hope to children who need it most. It’s an opportunity to be part of something that creates lasting change for generations.

Monthly Devotional
It has been said that you can give without loving, but you can not love without giving. For example, one can give gifts to control an outcome. One can give because they feel guilty or obligated. However, you can not love without giving. When you love someone you want to make sure all their needs are met. You are willing to sacrifice for their well-being. God is the perfect example of a giver. He looked down upon man and saw our great need. He poured out His love for us, when He gave His only begotten Son (John 3:16) to die on a cross for our sins. God’s giving did not stop at the cross. He continues to lavish us with His care, protection and provisions (I Peter 5:7, Psalm 121:7-8, Philippians 4:19). Futhermore, He invites us to be givers
also (I Peter 4:10). God especially exhorts us to care for the orphans and widows (James 1:27). Our primary mission at GROW is to share with our children and their families the love of God and His power to transform lives. We want them to know that He alone is the giver of salvation through the work of Christ on the cross. Therefore, we want to thank our donors and supporters for partnering with us by giving to the Lord so that lives can be changed.
I dreamed I went to heaven
And you were there with me
We walked upon the streets of gold
Beside the crystal sea
We heard the angles singing
Then someone called your name
You turned and saw this young man
And he was smiling as he came.
And he said friend you may not know me now
And then he said but wait
You used to teach my Sunday School
When I was only eight
And every week you would say a prayer
Before the class would start
And one day when you said that prayer
I asked Jesus in my heart.
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave.
Then another man stood before you
And said remember the time
A missionary came to your church
And his pictures made you cry
You didn’t have much money
But you gave it anyway
Jesus took the gift you gave
And that’s why I’m here today
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am a life that was changed.
Thank you for giving to the Lord
I am so glad you gave.
Prayer:
Lord, bless every donor and prayer partner. May they feel the joy of transforming lives through their generosity.
