12 Months of Prayer – Seeds that GROW Hope

Each month, join us in prayer for the children, staff, and supporters of Grace Refuge Outreach Worldwide (GROW). Together, we plant seeds of hope that God grows into healing, joy, and new beginnings.

July – Restoration of Families

God desires families to be whole and filled with love. Pray for restoration where relationships have been broken.

Lord, heal broken families and restore trust, forgiveness, and love. Bring unity and
hope to every home.

“He will turn the hearts of parents to their children.” – Malachi 4:6

One of the most beautiful parts of the ministry of GROW is not only the rescue and restoration of children, but also the healing and strengthening of families. Many of the children who come into GROW’s care come from situations marked by poverty, addiction, abuse, neglect, abandonment, or generational brokenness. While some children cannot safely return home, there are many cases where patient investment, discipleship, counseling, practical support, and the love of Christ begin bringing change to entire families.

Sumitra “Faa” Choemue and the GROW staff work hard to maintain healthy family connections whenever possible. They regularly visit villages, build relationships with parents and grandparents, advocate for children, provide encouragement, and help families move toward greater stability. In some cases, parents who once felt hopeless
have learned healthier ways to care for their children. Others have overcome destructive behaviors, began attending church, found employment, or developed a deeper understanding of love, responsibility, and faith. The future Family Visitation and Counseling Center in Thailand reflects GROW’s desire to continue strengthening and restoring families for generations to come.

We have also seen God work through reconciliation and renewed relationships between children and family members who were once distant or disconnected. Children who entered GROW frightened and wounded are now able to visit family members from a place of safety, confidence, and support. Some of our graduates are now helping support their own families and becoming examples of hope within their communities. These restored relationships are a powerful reminder that the Gospel does not only change individual lives — it transforms families and entire communities with hope, healing, forgiveness, and new beginnings.

… I’m so glad I’m a part
Of the family of God
I’ve been washed in the fountain
Cleansed by His blood
Joint heirs with Jesus
As we travel this sod
For I’m part of the family
The Family of God

From the door of an orphanage
To the house of the King
No longer an outcast
A new song I sing
From rags unto riches
From the weak to the strong
I’m not worthy to be here
But, praise God, I belong

… I’m so glad I’m a part
Of the family of God
I’ve been washed in the fountain
Cleansed by His blood
Joint heirs with Jesus
As we travel this sod
For I’m part of the family
The Family of God

… Family of God by Bill Gaither

In a world where many children are abandoned or have a skewed view of what a family is to look like; God steps in (Psalm 68:5). God says He will be our father and we can be His sons and daughters (II Corinthians 6:18). Ephesians 1:5 says, “God decided in advance to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do; and it gave Him great pleasure.” God has chosen us. He accepts us (Ephesians 1:6).  When we surrender to Jesus, our identity changes. We become His children (John 1:12). We can run to Him at any time because we belong to Him (Romans 8:15). He promises that He will never leave us (Hebrews 13:5), and that He is making a home for us in Heaven (John 14:1-3). God says that anyone can join His family (I Timothy 2:4). Anyone can be redeemed and have forgiveness of sins (Colossians 1:14). Our ministry at GROW is not only to share God’s truth with broken families in hopes of restoration, but first and foremost that each member may hear the Gospel story and join the family of God.

Prayer:

Lord, heal broken families and restore trust, forgiveness, and love. Bring unity and
hope to every home.
