June 2025
Focus: Provider
“Almighty fortress, You go before us
Nothing can stand against the power of our God
You shine in the shadow. You win every battle.
Nothing can stand against the power of our God”
– Battle Belongs by Phil Wickham
As humans we have never been independent. Since the moment of conception, we need care. Before coming to GROW, there was a young 9-year-old girl from Burma who was sent to live with her aunt in Thailand. The aunt did not feel she could provide a safe home for her. She prayed to God, and God opened the door for her to go to GROW Hope Thailand. At GROW God provided her a new home where she could be happy, where she was able to make new friends, and where she was given the opportunity to go to school. Most importantly, He provided a place where she was able to study God’s Word and learn about the real Provider, God our Father.

Every human being was created by God and in need of care. We need a provider. Philippians 4:19 says, “But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Many times, we are inclined to think that this verse means just basic survival needs like food, clothing and shelter. It is true, He provides for those physical needs (Luke 12:27-28), but He also knows that we are more than flesh and blood. God knows that we have emotional needs, and He will provide for them also. He says if we need comfort, He will comfort us so that we can comfort others. (II Corinthians 1:3-4). He says that if we need a friend, that He will be our friend and that He will stick closer than a brother. (Proverbs 18:24). He says that if your heart needs peace, all you must do is ask, and He will provide a peace so great that it will guard your heart and mind (Philippians 4:6-7). But above all, God provides for our spiritual needs. He provided His only Son as a sacrifice for our sins so that we can be made holy (John 1:29). He has made for us a home in Heaven where we can spend eternity with Him (John 14:2). He is the Provider now and forever more. All that we needed, His hand has provided.
Prayer: Pray that God will continue to work though GROW to provide for His children and that the children at GROW will learn to rely on Him.
